Feedback & Questions

Although HospitalityMachine & HospitalityMachineKiosk are based on an industrial strength operating system and application suite, I am the sole developer of HospitalityMachine & HospitalityMachineKiosk, so please be patient when asking for help. You should expect a reply within 24 hours, but if this doesn't happen it means I'm not here to pick up my emails (a rare occurrence). Wherever I am, as soon as I get back I will reply.

I am continually working on upgrades to HospitalityMachine & HospitalityMachineKiosk. Currently I'm  performing cosmetic refinements in the boot up and logon screens, and more substantial changes based on what users tell me. So if you think I have forgotten something, tell me! Do you have any ideas or comments for future releases, i.e., should there be specialised versions, for example a version for nightclubs with mixing and playback tools? Maybe there should be a CCTV application? Should there be a website forum available for users? Should I include some form of EPOS? Should I forgo the CD format and go for DVD and squeeze LOTS of extra applications and functionality onto it? Let me know what you think!

This is an open source operating system meant for the hospitality trade, which means it's YOURS, and any comments, whether good or bad, can only help to make it better.

List of Future Upgrades

I already have certain items I want to change/implement for the next release of HospitalityMachine Max and Mini.

HospitalityMachine:

  • Design from scratch splash screens, log on screens, etc.

  • Use an upgraded GUI front end for ClamAV. Research Klam as a possibility.

  • Configure ClamAV to automatically update in the background without asking for user input.

HospitalityMachineKiosk:

  • Design from scratch splash screens, log on screens, etc.

  • Research the need for using an antivirus application on a LiveCD based Kiosk distro, and if it is truly needed - implement ClamAV.

  • Implement Media players, including Mplayer, Realplayer, Gxine, and various codecs.
