Default Background. I used an Open Source Vista inspired background. A blank page in NVU, the website design program. Looking at the resources on a Windows file server. Looking and manipulating a Microsoft Office document (including images) on HospitalityMachine. Playing a music file copied over to HospitalityMachine from a Windows server. Watching video in Mozilla Firefox. Playing a video clip in VLC. Playing music in Amarok, with 4 concurrent visualisations.

The following screenshots show HMK's desktop, and a number of open applications.

The cloud/web 2.0 applications shown below (Google Maps and Flash Earth) open in a browser that doesn't include the address bar and other navigation components. This frees up more screen space and makes the cloud application run seamlessly. However a 'normal' browser is also included (as can be seen from the YouTube screenshot), although it too is locked down.

HMK's desktop. Pidgin (messaging application) starting up. Skype is included so you can offer your customers internet telephony. Google Maps, one of several cloud based applications include in HMK. Flash Earth. Similar to Google Earth, but the CPU overhead is shifted from the local machine to internet servers. YouTube!
